OK, so at my work we have a staff pumpkin carving contest, and this was my idea that I came up with, that one of my coworkers was kind enough to help me create!

The Pumpkiodic Table (remember I do work at a science and natural history museum so it was supposed to have a scientific theme...i.e. I am a nerd, but this time I had an excuse )

I did 10 pumpkins so that I could put them in columns like the real periodic table, and used the following elements (+ their representations):

1. Hydrogen: The Hindenburg
2. Calcium: Represented by a fortified orange like from the Minute Maid commercials (Note: I had to paint the damn thing orange since I bought all white ones! )
3. Radium: Radioactive Pumpkin
4. Silver: Dipped in glitter
5. Gold: Covered in Gold leaf
6. Aluminum: Covered in foil
7. Platinum: Painted in Tiffany's blue with rhinestones
8. Helium: A blue sky with clouds and red balloons
9. Sulfur: Painted yellow with stink lines
10. Krypton: Superpumpkin! (Note: it even has a cape! Yep, I was a bit drunk by that point... Bry + glue gun + rum & cokes = DANGEROUS)

The center pictures shows the title and the board they were all on which even had the correct masses for each of the elements...yes yes I know... NERD

Materials:
White mini pumpkins, acrylic paints, tissue paper, glitter, gold leaf, other various children's type craft supplies...and several rum and cokes

Might be moved to scraps soon, idk I just wanted to share it though since we won the contest! Out of 12 other entries I might add!

Sorry bout the condition of the pumpkins but they had to survive transport to the museum and tons of hands handling them. And please excuse the poor photography of the pumpkins, I had to take the pictures with one of the cameras from work which are pretty old, and not all that great. The lighting on them sucks too...but again, something we shall ignore
